Chocolate cake in a MUG

No doubt if you have a sweet tooth like me, you have often wanted a piece of chocolate cake. Now here you have 2 choices, you can go out and buy one, which would require getting out of the house, driving/ walking. Waiting in line.... OR you could bake a cake. Now if you are in a hurry, or you are in the middle of doing something else, then baking a cake can be time consuming also...........unless it's a 3 minute chocolate cake in a mug!

Ingredients:
*4 tbl spoon flour
*3 tbl spoon sugar (I used caster sugar, normal white sugar should be fine)
*2 tbl spoon cocoa
1 egg
6 tbl spoon milk
3 tbl spoon oil
*handful of choc chips (optional)
splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

  • Spray inside coffee mug with oil.
  • In a bowl, place all dry ingredients (I have marked them above with *)
  • In a cup, place all wet ingredients, mix well with a fork.
  • Add all wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mix well.
  • Empty batter into the coffee mug.
  • Place mug in the microwave, and cook on high for approx 3 minutes.
Once cooked, I made a mixture of 3 tbl spoon of icing sugar (icing mixture) and 3 tbl spoon of milk, and poured it over the hot cake. Topped it off with whipped cream from a can.

ENJOY

Notes:
This is a "quick fix". The texture is a bit rubbery, even with the icing mixture, may take some getting used to. The taste is good, although I wouldn't offer it to any guests. I plan to do this again, but bake it in the oven (approx 20 minutes), to see if it makes a difference with the texture. It is very convenient, but requires a little bit of tweaking. Overall, worth a try. If all else fails.......lots of ICECREAM!
Would you try it?
